I went for the Vesak Day prayers every year, accompanying my Mom as she was very devoted to it. It was the 3 steps 1 bow event. It takes one to have alot of patience, perseverance & determination to wait for the queue for almost 3 hours & approximately another 3 hours to go around the temple kneeling with head on floor after every 3 steps taken. Upon arrival at around 10pm+ my Mom waited ultra long just for a parking lot. The crowd this year was terribly huge.
We finally parked somewhere outside Bishan Park Secondary School & walked to the brighthill temple. Alot of waiting was done due to the amount of people attending.. & when it was our turn to start the 3 steps 1 bow thing, it was already 4am. I could still remember we completed everything by 3am+ during last year's event. But gosh, comparing it to this year, th time gap was so different. I reached home around 7 in the morning I guess. Was dead tired.
Slept till 3pm today, & guess wut.
My hands and arms are aching so badly since I woke up this afternoon.
Well it all happened while I was kneeling halfway through the ceremony,
I found out that my left big toe was kinda injured so I had no choice but to use my hands instead of my feet to support majority of my weight and relied on them to push myself up everytime after kneeling.
So I guess tht's th aftermath.
Goodness, hahah my hands & arms are numb & painful.
It felt as though they weren't mine.
